RB33 Vibraction: Our Review with the Defender

It’s been over a month since we embarked on an incredible road trip through Morocco, using the RB33 roadbook by Vibraction and crafting our own trails, which we’ll share with you soon along with our feedback.

We started our journey guided by Vibraction’s RB33 roadbook, and today, we’re giving you our review. This unforgettable adventure took us through breathtaking landscapes and fascinating cities. We’ve stopped at the Ouzoud waterfalls, ventured towards Imilchil, then headed back into the desert and along the coast.

Stay tuned as we’ll soon share the routes for other destinations like Merzouga, Sidi Ali, Foum Zguid, Imilchil, Tafraoute, and the Todgha and Dades Gorges.

For now, nothing is set in stone we’re living day by day. You can follow us on Instagram for real-time updates! 😉

Roadbook Vibraction 33 : Our Travel Companion

The RB33 roadbook by Vibraction has been an invaluable guide throughout this road trip. With its clear and precise instructions, we never got lost a huge relief when exploring a country for the first time! Even the most remote sections were easy to follow thanks to this reliable resource.

Roadbook Vibraction 33 : Our Favorite Stages

We had several favorites along the way, especially the Boudnib – Erfoud and Erfoud – Tazzarine stages, which left lasting impressions. The landscapes were absolutely stunning, featuring classic African sceneries like deserts, acacia trees, and the beginnings of sand dunes.

Ouarzazate, however, was a true highlight for its calm atmosphere and the kindness of its people. We stayed two days at the municipal campsite, centrally located and perfect for catching a taxi to visit the kasbahs. We toured the Atlas Studios and the Cinema Museum, where iconic movies like Asterix & ObelixThe MummyGladiator, and even episodes of Game of Thrones were filmed. Although a bit pricey, snapping photos in these famous settings was great fun!

The Tougher Moments and Tips

The first two stages were less enjoyable, especially the initial one, which involved a lot of driving to reach the Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we were deeply moved by the poverty and the number of children begging.

Here’s a key piece of advice from a village chief: Do not give anything directly to children (money, candy, snacks, pens), as it disrupts their education. If you want to help, donate (money, clothes, food) to the village chief or the Imam.

As for the Ouzoud waterfalls, they were too touristy for our taste. The overwhelming number of local guides and vendors made us feel harassed. We much prefer exploring at our own pace and enjoying tranquility.

Practical Tips

One regret we have is missing the James Bond “Spectre” train (Oriental Desert Express), visible between Oujda and Borj Belfrissate. It would have been amazing to see and photograph it!

Another tip for travelers: stock up on essentials — especially fruits, vegetables, eggs, and meat — before stages 2 and 3, as supplies can be scarce along the route. It’s best to shop in Nador or Oujda beforehand.

Conclusion

Our road trip in Morocco with the Vibraction RB33 roadbook has been an unforgettable journey filled with discoveries and unforgettable moments. While some stages were challenging and certain destinations didn’t fully win us over, every moment added to the uniqueness of this adventure.

We can’t wait to share more details, routes, tips, and reviews about our next destinations in future articles.
